Hello & Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year! I am excited to begin my ninth year as the GT District Coordinator. This is my 21st year in education and 19th year in Gifted Education. Most of my career has been with Gifted Education in Bullitt County Public Schools. I am also honored to be on the Kentucky Association of Gifted Education Board
of Directors and a 2nd District Kentucky Representative.
In the 2016-17 School Year, I was asked to be part of the Gifted Federal Javits Grant Advisory Council for Kentucky. The Javits Grant is a federal grant given to identify and serve underrepresented student populations. Kentucky’s grant is called Reaching Academic Potential (RAP) and focuses on kindergarten through second grade students in Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). The KDE has three partners and they are: Jefferson County Public Schools, Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville. The purpose of the advisory group is to ensure the goals and activities of the grant are being completed and to make connections to other gifted initiatives. The advisory council includes representatives from project partners, school leaders and teachers from multiple districts, as well as Gifted and Talented education stakeholders.
In the 2015-16 School Year, I was honored to become a Board of Directors Member of the Kentucky Association of Gifted Education, representing the 2nd District in Kentucky. I hope that as a parent or educator, you would consider joining this organization and supporting gifted education! We need more advocates for our students across the state of Kentucky!

In the 2014-15 School Year, I was part of the Kentucky State Department Work Groups on Gifted Education. Some of the work groups focused on the Teacher Evaluation Program & how it affects Gifted Teachers' Evaluations, lesson plans models for Gifted Education or Differentiated examples of lessons, and suggested formalized testing that districts can use for identification.

In the 2013-14 School Year, our district was honored to accept the Model Service Delivery Award from the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education on behalf of the BCPS Bullitt Advanced Math and Science (BAMS) Program. This is an accelerated program where freshmen and sophomores can complete their high school coursework in two years and complete the Associate Degree in their junior and senior years.
