high school gt program
The high school gifted program is more similar to the middle school structure. However, the high school GT program provides many more advanced opportunities and career pathways for students during their daily school experience. Each high school provides diverse opportunities for students and holds teachers accountable for providing adequate services for our GT students. Each school has the authority to decide on the specific curriculum and scheduling of the opportunities that the school provides for our GT students.
All High Schools have an accelerated, AP/Honors, and Career pathways, and dual enrollment opportunities, where students can earn college credits. Seminar classes and Independent Studies have also been available to focus on leadership skills and/or inquiry based learning units. The BAMS program is an accelerated program in which students may complete all four years of high school during their Freshman and Sophomore years. Then, they can obtain an Associate Degree during their Junior and Senior year (at no cost to them).
While the state regulations emphasize the need of service delivery options during the regular school day, Bullitt County’s high schools are also offering a variety of opportunities outside of the regular school day.
